TUZLA, June 26 (FENA) - The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, today visited the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tuzla, on the occasion of its 140th anniversary.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this is a significant jubilee, and that the temple is not only the pride of the Orthodox believers in Tuzla and northeastern Bosnia, but in the whole of BiH.
“This temple is a national monument in BiH. It is especially the pride of all of us who are from this area. It is not only an architecturally valuable building, it has a huge spiritual significance and carries great messages.
We are proud that we managed to preserve what this temple means, and that is coexistence, a symbol of good relations, which is especially true for this area and Tuzla,” said Novalić.
Novalić stated that he is proud that the Government of FBiH has allocated 100,000 KM for the maintenance of the temple, and that they will continue to support all events that have this meaning.
Church dignitaries presented Novalić with recognition for supporting the temple.
