SARAJEVO, May 20 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović will hold talks today in Sarajevo with European Council President Charles Michel, who intends to convey BiH's desire to become a candidate for EU membership because it would be very encouraging for all in BiH.

He announced that he would speak at the meeting about the blockade of BiH institutions, attempts to regress reforms, blows to the Dayton Peace Agreement and the need to stop these activities because they do not benefit anyone and harm those who undertake them.

"These are topics that we need to deal with and not topics whether there will be an Office of the High Representative or not, whether we will respect or not the decisions of the Constitutional Court, whether there will be Armed Forces and security agencies," Džaferović said clearly.

He referred to the idea of creating a European geopolitical community, of which the countries of the Western Balkans would be a part, emphasizing that nothing can replace the need for progress toward EU membership, which was said in Michel's speech announcing this possibility.

It is not a question of replacing the European path of aspiring countries, says Džaferović, who believes that all Western Balkan countries should become EU members and that this is the moment when the membership of the Western Balkan states in the EU should be pushed.

There is nothing against any such community, but it is still unknown what that will mean for BiH, which is why he hopes to find out at today's meeting in Sarajevo.

Speaking about the issue of allocating money for general elections and the fact that the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury will submit a document to this year's budget to the Council of Ministers on Monday, Džaferović said the budget should have been adopted late last year.

"I do not know which formula will provide funds for the elections, but I know for sure that there will be money for the elections, which will certainly be held on time as prescribed by law," underlined the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH.

He concluded that the elections will be held according to the current BiH Election Law, because it is too late for any reforms of the election legislation at the time when the election process began, but he is of the opinion that they will have to deal with the implementation of the European Court of Human Rights. which also means changing the Constitution and the Election Law to ensure the rights of citizens who do not belong to one of the three constituent peoples.
