Šarović: Izetbegović and Čović invited to NARS as coalition partners of SNSD

BANJA LUKA, January 25 (FENA) - President of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) Mirko Šarović said that behind the invitation to the presidents of the SDA and HDZ BiH Bakir Izetbegović and Dragan Čović to address the RS National Assembly, there are probably some hidden scenarios, and he clearly doubts that the invitation came from the RSNA Speaker Nedeljko Čubrilović.

He says that the question arises on what basis Izetbegović and Čović were invited.

“I see no reason to call on this type of issue that is on the agenda of the NARS. The question also arises, if the presidents of the two parties from the Federation of BiH are invited, why the representatives of other parliamentary parties were left out. If they do not call everyone, then they probably invited Izetbegović and Čović as coalition partners in the government at the level of BiH,” Šarović believes.

It is obvious, says Šarović, that they are calling those with whom they need to agree on whether or not they will resume work in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

SDS President assessed that the talks on changing the election legislation, which will take place in the coming days, are the last chance to reach an agreement on this issue.

“We have received an invitation to talks in which Matthew Palmer, the US Special Envoy for Electoral Reform in BiH and EU representatives will participate. The position of the SDS is that there is little chance that a large package will be adopted. We believe that the only chance to adopt amendments to the Election Law, which we all agree on, is to improve the election process in order to be fair and honest and to respect the will of the citizens as much as possible,” said Šarović, announced the Press Service of SDS.
