SARAJEVO, January 13 (FENA) - A conference of Ministers of Health in Bosnia and Herzegovina should, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, be held by the end of January, at which the issue of introducing a unified QR code for Covid passes in BiH should finally be resolved.

As FENA learned today from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, they prepared a draft agreement that would resolve this issue, and it was submitted to all competent institutions for an opinion.

After the opinions are collected, a conference of ministers for health will be organized, they explained.

Director of the Public Health Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Siniša Skočibušić and member of the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health Goran Čerkez said earlier that the development of unified state-level software for the introduction of QR codes is underway.

They explained that they have sent a request to all cantonal ministries of health to submit databases, which is a condition for being part of the system operated by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange (IDDEEA).

"The Ministry of Civil Affairs submitted a draft agreement for everyone to submit data to IDDEEA for a unified database in order for it to be accepted in the European Union. We are not satisfied with the speed of this work, but we are not competent to speed it up, as it is important to enabling our citizens to travel to the EU," said Skočibušić.

The planned ministerial conference should be followed by the material and technical implementation of the system in connection with the EU Green Pass system, and after the European Union verifies the BiH system, it will be possible to issue internationally recognized Covid passes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
