SARAJEVO, January 4 (FENA) - A mural of former Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher was painted on a building in the Sarajevo suburb of Dobrinja. The mural was symbolically painted on his 53rd birthday.

A group of artists from the "Obojena Klapa" Association decided to paint a mural, and the building they chose is located in the neighborhood where Schumacher visited Sarajevo's children after the war.

The mural measures 10x13 meters, and as it was pointed out, paints that purify the air were used in its making.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the Goethe Institute of BiH.

In 2013, Schumacher suffered a severe fall while skiing, which left him in a coma for a long time. He visited Sarajevo twice as a UNESCO Special Ambassador on the occasion of a project to raise money for the treatment of children victims of shelling and landmines.

The City of Sarajevo declared Michael Schumacher its honorary citizen in 2014.
