VAREŠ, January 4 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić and Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić visited the municipality of Vareš today, where they discussed infrastructure projects with Vareš mayors Zdravko Marošević and Olovo Đemal Memagić.
Prime Minister Novalić said that the FBiH Government has been cooperating much more with municipalities lately because they realized that they use funds far more rationally.
"By holding a series of meetings, we want to see what smaller communities need," said Novalić.
He pointed out that they discussed the production of precious metals, tourist destinations such as Bobovac, as well as increasing communication between municipalities such as Vareš and Olovo.
"The Tuzla Canton and the Government of the FBiH are already working on the concept solution for the construction of the railway. Banovići is only 42 km away from Vareš," said Novalić.
They also talked about the construction of the road Vareš - Oćevija, where the Federation of BiH would have the role of moderator.
"We will do our best to complete this job with joint effort," Novalić concluded.
Minister Džindić said that there are private mines in Vareš and Olovo that are ready for exploitation after the relevant ministry issued all the necessary permits.
At the meeting, as he stated, the readiness to help the local community through the construction of infrastructure projects, as well as employment, was expressed as well.
He explained that both mines are owned by foreign partners and operate according to the latest world standards.
"These are mines of precious metals and all ores go on the world stock exchange, which guarantees income," he added.
The revival of the railways, he added, is the next precondition for economically viable ore exploitation. The infrastructure must be improved," Džindić emphasized.
