SARAJEVO, November 30 (FENA) - If the Agreement between Elektroprivreda BiH and the Miners' Union is signed, there will be no increase in electricity prices in the Federation of BiH in 2022, said Director of Elektroprivreda BiH Admir Andelija, who presented the Information on the situation in coal mines in the FBiH today at the session of the House of Representatives.
In a statement for the media, he emphasized that a month ago, Elektroprivreda BiH sent an initiative to the Government to increase the price of coal by 20 percent for all mines that supply coal to Elektroprivreda BiH.
“Then we said that we would try to adjust the price of 55 million KM with our internal reserves, and we repeat that now. However, what is controversial and really a problem are taxes and contributions from previous years. These are not from last year and the year before last, they are taxes and contributions that have not been paid for the last 12 years. That is around 430 million KM and that is the problem,” said Andelija.
These funds, he says, could be provided in a way to further increase the price of coal to the mines or to implement the ongoing reforms so that the mines are fully economically viable to pay such obligations themselves.
“It should be a set of measures that will make the mines economically viable in 2022 and which, in addition to current liabilities, will have to enable the payment of liabilities from the previous period without an additional increase in the price of coal,” said Andelija.
