SARAJEVO, November 16 (FENA) - Adviser to the United States Secretary of State, Derek Chollet, who is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina, met today with representatives of religious communities in BiH, and on that occasion they pointed out that peace has no alternative.
The meeting was attended by the Raisu-l-Ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef Kavazović, Bishop Tomo Vukšić and the President of the Jewish Community in BiH Jakob Finci. US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson also attended the meeting.
Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazović assessed the preservation of peace in BiH as the most important, adding that everyone should work in that direction, including friends of Western countries, but also people from BiH.
“When we have peace and we know that no one will disturb that peace, then it is necessary to open a dialogue between the leaders to discuss the interests of the state and the people who live in it. That is the message we sent,” Kavazović added.
He expressed fear that peace would be endangered and warned that all those who contribute to that with their actions and words would be responsible, and called on them to stop such activities and rhetoric, adding that "we are the most important to each other and no one is more important than our neighbors."
He is of the opinion that it is certainly the most difficult for returnees, which is why he believes that everyone should have responsibility towards all people in BiH, and especially towards minority communities, and make their lives safe, live and work in peace and not allow anything to happen to them.
President of the Jewish community in BiH, Jakob Finci, said that they discussed the situation in BiH at the meeting and that the possibilities of BiH were discussed because "it is obvious that we ourselves do not have a solution".
