SARAJEVO, October 31 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said today that BiH is in the worst crisis since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, but stressed that there is no doubt that BiH will overcome that crisis.

Visiting the regular Sunday session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals Circle 99 on the topic "Building Democratic Institutions, Struggle for Sovereignty and Strikes on the Constitutional Order of the State of BiH", he said that as one of the most responsible people he monitors the whole situation and analyzes it, and he is convinced that BiH will get out of this crisis.

“The blockade of BiH institutions is currently the biggest danger for BiH. This is the most important issue that needs to be addressed because nothing can be done by blocking the institutions. It is too important for BiH, the region and the world for irresponsible politicians to play with the functioning of institutions,” he added.

However, regardless of these factors, he expressed his belief that BiH will continue its development and embark on its path towards NATO and the European Union, as well as achieve the overall social reforms that citizens expect.

“No matter how severe the crisis was, I am not naive when I say this and I follow the situation well, but I am sure that the institutions will function, those who are not there will return to the institutions and those who block processes will have to stop,” said Džaferović.

He also commented on the recently adopted declaration of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), saying that it is a dangerous document and is in line with what they have adopted so far on the party's boards, but the difference is that it went a step further in the implementation of the document.

He reminded that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska has adopted a law on medicines which tries to repeal the state Law on Medicines, but Džaferović says that the law adopted by the Assembly of BiH entities will have no legal force and cannot suspend state law or the importance and capacity of the state Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices because the entity cannot derogate from state laws.

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik will not succeed in returning state competencies to the entity level, Džaferović adds, this can only destabilize peace and security in the entire region, and what Dodik says is not appropriate for any politician, which is why Dodik must leave the political scene of BiH.

He also commented on this week's negotiations on changes to the BiH Election Law, saying that the biggest problem is the blockade of institutions and that is the basic issue that needs to be resolved, but he notes that BiH must implement the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.
