Komšić and Džaferović receive EU Military Committee Chairman, General Graziano

SARAJEVO, October 28 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić and the BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović received today the EU Military Committee Chairman, General Claudio Graziano.

At the meeting, the officials discussed the European path of BiH, the upcoming activities and cooperation between BiH and the EU in the field of security and defense policy, as well as the development of European security and defense, and the fight against terrorism and illegal migration.

Both sides expressed readiness for BiH to be part of the overall efforts to achieve security and commitment in the fight against terrorism in the world, which is confirmed by the membership in the Global Coalition to Combat Terrorism.

In this regard, Bosnia and Herzegovina is cooperating with the countries of the region and the EU.

They stated that the fight against these threats is possible only with joint action and mutual support of countries in Europe, cooperation and support of all partners who can provide adequate support.

The Armed Forces of BiH are ready to participate in these operations, which is shown by the previous good experiences of the Armed Forces of BiH in international missions and operations, the members of the Presidency of BiH emphasized.

On this occasion, the members of the Presidency of BiH welcomed the conclusions of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council, which, among other things, confirm support for the continuation of the EUFOR mission (Operation Althea) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina's European perspective.

The Chairman of the EU Military Committee, General Graziano, expressed his support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the activities carried out on the road to the European Union, as well as the readiness to help along that path.

He supported the activities and work of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose task is to preserve peace and stability in our country. He also expressed the expectation that the UN Security Council would extend the mandate of the EUFOR / Althea mission in BiH.
