FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 28 (FENA) - EU4Business project of the European Union organized today in Čelinac a panel discussion on "Importance of modernization of processing capacities in the agri-food sector - challenges and perspectives" with accompanying promotion of products of successfully realized investments under the EU4Business project.

The event presented the companies that received grants within the EU4Business project: Winery Jungić - Čelinac (wine sector), Vimar - Visoko (meat industry sector), Eco cheese Puđa - Livno (dairy sector), Farmavit - Ljubinje, Poljorad (dairy sector), MI Trivas - Prnjavor (meat industry sector). A total of 82 companies throughout BiH were supported with grants through the EU4Business project.

The Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to BiH, Stefano Ellero, pointed out that the European Union provides support to BiH companies to become more competitive in the market, with a special focus on digitalization and the green agenda of their business.

"Support to small and medium enterprises is one of the most important tasks of the European Union in BiH. In the agri-food sector, we supported a total of 35 users with about three million euros, which enabled the opening of more than 90 new jobs, of which more than 50 percent are women. We continue to support the development of the agricultural sector in BiH, allocating about 30 million euros," said Ellero.

EU4Business Project Project Manager Ismar Ćeremida said that the support of the EU4Business project is especially important for the BiH agricultural sector, which contributes approximately seven percent to gross national income and has a strong role in the development of the BiH economy.

This event was a great opportunity for representatives of institutions, companies, partner organizations and the media to get acquainted with EU4Business support for investment in processing capacity and marketing of agri-food products, as well as innovation and success achieved by supported companies with the support of the European Union. Representatives of the institutions also attended the event, UNDP said.
