FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, October 27 (FENA) - The RS National Assembly's special session on the decisions of the Presidency of BiH, which were vetoed by Milorad Dodik, a member of the Presidency of BiH, ended with the rejection of Dodik's request.

Fifty-four deputies voted for Dodik's initiative, while two were against, which means that there was no two-thirds majority for the veto.

Today's session was abandoned by deputies from SDS, PDP and SPS, which meant that there would be no two-thirds majority of 56 deputies for the decision-making.

The RS National Assembly rejected the violation of the vital interest of the RS regarding the conclusions of the Presidency of BiH on the opening of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Sarajevo and the opening of the office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Banja Luka.

The Assembly did not confirm that the Decision on accepting the Agreement between the Council of Ministers and the Government of Turkey on mutual protection and exchange of classified information related to the Agreement in the field of military industry, which was adopted at the session of the Presidency of BiH.

The violation of vital interest was not confirmed regarding the Decision on initiating the procedure for conducting negotiations for concluding the Agreement between the Council of Ministers and the Government of Pakistan on cooperation in the fight against international crime, terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime.

The MPs decided that the Decision on initiating the procedure for conducting negotiations for concluding the Agreement on Security Cooperation between the Council of Ministers and the Government of Turkey, which was adopted at the session of the Presidency of BiH on October 18, is not harmful to the interests of this entity.

At today's special session, the MPs did not reject the Decision to initiate a procedure for conducting negotiations for the purpose of concluding the Agreement between BiH and Croatia on amendments to the agreement on border crossings.

The two-thirds majority was also insufficient for confirming the violation of the vital interest of the RS also when it comes to the Decision to initiate negotiations for the conclusion of the Loan Agreement between Austria and BiH, and the Decision to approve the signing of the Joint Statement of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia on the implementation of the project of digitization of the archival material of the former Yugoslavia.
