No consensus on the Law on Protection of Serbian Language and Cyrillic Script

SARAJEVO, October 15 (FENA) - At a session of the Joint Commission of the National Assembly and the Council of Peoples of the entity of Republika Srpska, held today, the Law on Protection, Preservation and Use of the Language of the Serb People and the Cyrillic Script has not been harmonized.

The law in question was considered in connection with decisions to initiate proceedings to protect the vital national interest of the Bosniak and Croat peoples in the RS.

Since no agreement was reached at the session regarding the considered law, the case has been forwarded to the Constitutional Court of the RS - the Council for the Protection of Vital Interest for a final decision.
