SARAJEVO, October 15 (FENA) - The Expert Advisory Body (SST) for Immunization of the FBiH Ministry of Health has issued Provisional Additional Recommendations related to vaccination against COVID-19, stated the Sarajevo Canton Press Service.
In accordance with the conclusions of the SST, at the level of the Federation of BiH, the Ministry of Health and the Working Group for Coordination of Vaccination in the Sarajevo Canton have called for a third dose of vaccine against Covid-19 for persons over 12 years of age with severe immunosuppression, namely: persons with primary or acquired immunodeficiency, persons on immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapy and persons receiving high doses of steroids.
It is necessary to make an appointment in advance, obtain a specialist's opinion for the time of application of the third dose, and enclose an immunization card with the first two doses, without which vaccination will not be possible.
For individuals over 18 years of age with severe immunosuppression, the SST for immunization recommends that an mRNA vaccine for the third dose, with the possibility of administering a vector or inactivated vaccine to those who have previously received these vaccines.
Immunization with the third dose with the recommendation and opinion of a specialist will begin by the end of this month at the Covid point at Zetra Hall, but also at the sites of the Public Health Centers in the canton.
It will take place on those days and locations where vaccines are available for the third dose, and in accordance with the available quantities in the Sarajevo Canton.
