Court of BiH - Jahja Vuković acquitted of charges, prohibition measures lifted

SARAJEVO, October 5 (FENA) - Jahja Vuković has been acquitted of charges of terrorist activities in Syria. The prohibitive measures imposed on the accused were also lifted.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina /BiH/ delivered a Judgment in the case of Jahja Vuković today, 5 October 2021, acquitting the accused Jahja Vuković of the charge of committing the criminal offense of Organizing a Terrorist Group under Article 202d paragraph 2 as read with paragraph 1, taken in conjunction with Article 201 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

"The accused Jahja Vuković was acquitted of the charge that he left BiH on 16 June 2014 and went to Syria to join formations that were part of the terrorist organization “Jabhat al-Nusra” (Al-Nusra Front) and terrorist groups operating in the territory of Syria, listed by the UN Security Council as terrorist organizations. The accused Jahja Vuković was acquitted of the charge that he stayed in the said area together with other persons from BiH who were in Syria with the same intention and that he participated in terrorist activities, rendered assistance and fought for the “Jabhat al-Nusra” forces using the name “Abdulaziz”," announcd the Court of BiH today. 

At the same time, the Court issued a Decision, terminating the prohibitive measures imposed on the accused Jahja Vuković by a Decision dated 18 March 2021.
