SARAJEVO, October 4 (FENA) - The end of the first public diplomacy campaign "12 days of peace" organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina was marked.

At a ceremony in Sarajevo on that occasion, Deputy Chair of the BiH Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister Bisera Turković recalled activities during the campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world through a diplomatic and consular network in more than 20 countries.

Campaign was realized with the help of partners from the United Nations Office in BiH and the UN Population Fund for Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNFPA), and the Minister assessed it as a very important event because it emphasizes the universal values of peace, respect among people and living with dignity, while accepting diversity.

UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Ingrid Macdonald stated that the campaign is part of a peacebuilding effort at a time when the whole world is facing challenges such as widespread mistrust, adverse climate change, and pandemics.

John Kennedy Mosoti, a representative of the United Nations Population Fund for BiH (UNFPA), said he appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina in implementing the "12 Days of Peace" campaign, in which this initiative is currently being marked in 22 cities around the world, recognizing that peace is a universal value and that it requires joint engagement.

The "12 days of peace" campaign lasted from September 21, the International Day of Peace, to October 2, the International Day of Non-violence.

Artists, children and young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina played a significant role in the implementation in order to present their country to the international public as a successful example of peace building in the post-conflict period, presenting positive stories, events and people from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the twelve-day campaign, in addition to events in BiH, more than 20 BiH embassies, consulates and missions around the world organized lectures, round tables, photo exhibitions, film screenings of positive stories, people and events from BiH, related to peacekeeping.

The campaign was presented in Berlin, Beijing, Milan, The Hague, Kuwait, Riyadh and other cities and metropolises.
