Major General Tabor, Commander of Special Operations Command Europe, visits BiH

SARAJEVO, September 28 (FENA) - Major General David Tabor, Commander of Special Operations Command Europe met with leaders and representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 25-28 September 2021. The purpose of his visit was to discuss continued collaboration and partnership between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina while sustaining a safe and secure environment in the Balkans.

The visit included a series of key leader engagements throughout the country. Major General Tabor met with the Armed Forces of BiH, State Investigation and Protection Agency, entity ministries of interior, and police forces.

He held conversations about modernization and future training opportunities. The meetings covered topics including Bosnia and Herzegovina’s contribution of troops to both NATO and UN missions, the development of the Armed Forces of BiH​ Media Information Center, and cooperation between SOCEUR Civil Affairs and BiH authorities.

“These meetings underscore the significant contributions of​ the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the safety and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s citizens, said Maj. Gen. Tabor. “Having the capabilities to effectively train and prepare for any number of challenges demonstrates the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ability to act quickly and effectively to support citizens in any scenario.”

During the course of the trip, Maj. Gen. Tabor met with the Deputy Chief of Defense for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maj. Gen. Ivica Jerkić, Commander of the Special Service Unit of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, Enes Karić, Commandant Assistant of Special Support Unit of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, Dalibor Milošević, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Interior Aljosa Čampara, Deputy Director for Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Police Ensad Korman, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Interior Special Unit Commander Mustafa Selmanović, the RS Minister of Interior Dragan Lukač, and the RS Ministry of Interior Special Anti-Terror Unit Commander Goran Balaban, stated the US Embassy in BiH.
