More than 2,000 volunteers take part in World Cleanup Day in BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 19 (FENA) - 'Let's Do It BiH', in cooperation with numerous partners, associations and individuals, organized the campaign "Let's clean the Earth in one day" at more than 30 locations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Despite the rain, more than 2,000 hard-working volunteers collected large amounts of waste at various locations in the country.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of 180 countries around the world that have joined World Cleanup Day through in-field volunteering.

Parks, promenades, schoolyards, riverbeds, streets and other public areas were cleaned.

The European Union continuously supports initiatives aimed at preventing and reducing pollution, better waste management, and providing support to the competent authorities in implementing effective measures.

Many existing and future policy initiatives under the European Green Plan provide a European framework and support for environmental protection across the European Union and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
