Indictment has been filed for smuggling illegal migrants

SARAJEVO, September 16 (FENA) - The prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption filed an indictment against Bogoljub Dačević (1972), a police officer of the Border Police - JGP Hum, and Branislav Blagojević (1994) and Vladimir Matović 1995), who are charged with smuggling illegal migrants.

The Accused are charged that, after the Accused Dačević, in his capacity as a Police Officer of the BiH Border Police, while performing the duty of Head of Sector, after reporting that a large group of persons entered BiH illegally from Montenegro, found a group of 12 illegal migrants, Syrian nationals, including minors and children, and, instead of preventing illegal border crossings, used an official Border Police van to connect the migrants to a location in Dragočeva.

The indictment alleges that he then demanded money in the amount of 1,500 euros from illegal migrants, in order to transport them further to the territory of BiH.

"A group of illegal migrants collected the amount of 1,200 euros, which they gave to the accused, who then hired the accused Blagojević and Matović, and gave them part of the money to transport the migrants to Sarajevo and release them from the vehicle in the Trnovo area. after that, he used the official vehicle to provide protection to the vehicles driven by the other two defendants, after which he returned to the Border Police premises, where he submitted a false report that a group of migrants had been deterred from entering BiH," the indictment alleges.

By the way, vehicles with illegal migrants were discovered during the police control near Foča.

Specifically, the Accused Bogoljub Dačević is charged with the criminal offense of Organizing a Group or Association to Commit the Criminal Offense of Smuggling of Migrants in Relation to the Criminal Offense of Smuggling of People, as well as the criminal offense of Receiving Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit.

At the same time, the accused Branislav Blagojević and Vladimir Matović are charged with the criminal offense of Organizing a Group or Association for the Perpetration of the Criminal Offense of Smuggling of Migrants, all in connection with the criminal offense of Smuggling of People.

The Prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 22 witnesses and two expert witnesses, and by enclosing dozens of pieces of evidence.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.
