Gudeljević holds meetings on sidelines of conference in Switzerland

SARAJEVO, September 15 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Civil Affairs Ankica Gudeljević is attending the conference "Roadmap of Scientific Diplomacy in Southeast Europe of the International Institute for Sustainable Technologies in Southeast Europe (SEEIIST)".

Gudeljević held separate meetings with the EU Delegation in Switzerland and met with Swiss Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation Martin Hirayama on the sidelines of the conference.

With Signe Ratso, Deputy Director General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation and Chief Negotiator for Horizon for the Western Balkans, Minister Gudeljević discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina's current accession to Horizon Europe, which aims to boost scientists.

Another important topic of the meeting was the participation of BiH in the SEEIIST project and the opportunities for Bosnia and Herzegovina that open up by participating in that project. Minister Gudeljević emphasized that science is a priority of every country because science is the future and prosperity, especially when it comes to countries that are preparing to join the EU.

Ratso thanked Minister Gudeljević for her commitment and enthusiasm expressed through conversation and participation in the conference, and added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a very desirable partner in this project.

At a meeting with Swiss Secretary of State for Education, Research and Innovation Martin Hirayama, they discussed co-operation in education, student exchange opportunities and the harmonization of educational programs with the labor market, and Hirayama briefed the minister on the benefits of dual education.

Also, the interlocutors stressed the importance of research and research projects as well as supporting the strengthening of research areas.
