PROZOR / RAMA, September 14 (FENA) - The 28th anniversary of the deaths of 29 Croat civilians and 12 members of the Croat Defense Council, who were killed on September 14, 1993, by members of the BiH Army, was marked in the village of Uzdol in the Prozor/Rama municipality on Tuesday.
Numerous relatives and friends of the victims, representatives of veteran associations, and political representatives gathered in Uzdol on Tuesday to pay tribute to the victims. The oldest victim in Uzdol was 87, and the youngest was 10 years old.
The BiH Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša, who took part in marking the anniversary, appealed to the BiH judiciary to finally complete all war crimes cases in order for BiH to look to the future.
"Unfortunately, 28 years ago, at dawn, a horrible crime took place here. We try to seek both justice and satisfaction for families and we expect from the BiH judiciary to punish not only the commanders but also the perpetrators of the heinous crime that took place here," Minister Grubeša told reporters.
Asked whether Enver Buza, commander of the Independent Battalion Prozor of the BiH Army, being sentenced to eight years in prison was an adequate sentence, Grubeša said that it was difficult to comment on the verdicts, but that it was clear that speaking from the victim's perspective it was not enough.
"We should look for a balanced court practice and that every crime should be sanctioned to the maximum," said Minister Grubeša.
