SARAJEVO, September 14 (FENA) - Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) Damir Arnaut talked today with the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina Christine Toudic.
The interlocutors referred to the cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of strengthening the independence of the judiciary, the fight against corruption and increasing transparency in the public sector.
Ambassador Toudic informed MP Arnaut about her efforts to encourage greater investments by French investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which MP Arnaut welcomed, and stressed the importance of increasing the economic presence of Western countries in our country.
In that sense, MP Arnaut emphasized the extremely important role of the French Republic in the promotion of democratic values, and asked for further insistence of official Paris on full fulfillment of 14 priorities as a condition for obtaining candidate status for membership in the European Union.
Ambassador Toudic also briefed MP Arnaut on activities in the field of additional French language presence in cultural and educational institutions in our country, emphasizing the belief that increasing the number of people learning and speaking French in Bosnia and Herzegovina would lead to stronger trade ties between the two countries. .
In this regard, MP Arnaut emphasized the particularly positive role that the promotion of French cultural values can play in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The interlocutors also discussed measures that can and should be taken to strengthen gender equality, with special reference to economic steps that would lead to the empowerment of young entrepreneurs in rural areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the Public Relations Department of the PABiH.
