SARAJEVO, September 12 (FENA) - Director of the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC) Edhem Fočo announced on Friday evening that the fourth festival edition, whose slogan is "Challenge", brings a top selection of films, among which some of the most interesting films were shot with smartphones.
"We hope that we have become a tradition in Sarajevo because we have endured through all challenges like all the other people," said Fočo before the official opening of the Festival.
He says all the films will be shown in cinemas and outdoors, and also in an online format.
The slogan of the festival runs through the action of all the films of this year's selection, whose actors face various challenges, those that they have imposed on themselves or that society has set for them.
"The documentary form is the best for showing such stories in a relatively short period of time," said Fočo before the opening of this year's AJB DOC Film Festival.
The opening ceremony was held on Friday night at the Kovači Memorial Center, followed by a screening of the film "Faith and Branko".
Until September 14, the audience can expect the screening of 23 documentaries of top production. Three prizes will be awarded. An international jury consisting of award-winning film producer Jamel Dallali, screenwriter, director and editor Una Gunjak and DokuFest artistic director Veton Nurkollari will select the best film of the Festival's competition selection and award the "AJB DOC Main Award".
