SARAJEVO, September 8 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić talked today on the sidelines of the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments in Vienna with President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop on bilateral relations between BiH and Turkey, said the Sector of the Parliamentary Assembly for Public Relations.
During the meeting, it was pointed out that the relations between the two countries are good and friendly, which results in frequent formal meetings and signed bilateral agreements, but that there is plenty of room for improving cooperation in economy, industry, energy, tourism, culture, education and other areas.
The interlocutors agreed that more intensive foreign trade, strengthening economic and cultural relations, but also parliamentary cooperation, are goals that should be a priority in the coming period.
In addition to strongly supporting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multiethnicity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey also provides strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to European and NATO integration.
The interlocutors pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen economic ties by organizing business forums with the aim of presenting specific projects to potential Turkish investors.
Chairman Zvizdić and President Şentop assessed that the parliamentary delegations of BiH and Turkey have good cooperation and that it should be improved, and that economic ties are better from year to year.
Zvizdić and Şentop exchanged invitations to visit the parliaments of the Republic of Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
