SARAJEVO, September 3 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) Denis Zvizdić and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH Borjana Krišto will participate in the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament to be held in Vienna from 6 to September 9, 2021.
The central topic of the Conference, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Austrian Parliament, is "Parliamentary Leadership for More Effective Multilateralism in the Function of Peace and Sustainable Development for People and the Planet".
As the organizers announced, the plenary discussion and accompanying panel discussions will be an opportunity for direct interaction of parliamentary leaders on all current global topics.
The Conference will also include the Summit of Women Speakers of Parliaments, during which, parliamentary gender-sensitive actions will be discussed in the function of mitigating the consequences and recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
The conference in Vienna will end with the holding of the 1st Global Parliamentary Summit on Combating Terrorism, which, in addition to the IPU, also includes the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Counter-Terrorism Office (UNOTC), announced the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
