NEUM, September 1 (FENA) - A delegation of the FBiH Government led by Prime Minister Fadil Novalić visited the municipality of Neum on Wednesday, where they met with Mayor Dragan Jurković to discuss tourism and road communications in the municipality and promised a purchase of firefighting aircrafts.
On behalf of the Government, Novalić expressed readiness to help the municipality and the tourism industry and emphasized the great importance of Neum, primarily due to its geographical location.
Therefore, as Novalić said, there is an increased interest in the municipality, as well as in the situation in it, assessing that it is a very attractive destination for foreign and domestic tourists.
The meeting also focused on the problems with wildfires that Neum faces in the summer months, and the prime minister promised that the next budget would include an item on the purchase of two or three planes or helicopters that will be available to Herzegovina as of next season, including Neum.
The FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism, Edita Đapo, assessed that the local hotels can be compared to the ones around the world, but that the infrastructure, the roads and transportation in the cities and its regularity is something in which BiH lags behind other countries.
