MOSTAR, August 25 (FENA) - The Mostar Symphony Orchestra will open the first edition of the Open City Mostar festival on September 1 at 8:30 pm with a concert on the Nikola Šubić Zrinjski promenade, and the program will continue on the same day with a concert by Darko Rundek.
“Personally, I am very glad that with this festival we will extend the season and put Mostar in the place it should be. Our goal is for the city to have a year-round cultural program, and the idea is that this is not a one-time story, that in the coming years at this or similar time we have similar events,” said Mostar Mayor Mario Kordić at a meeting with journalists when the festival program was presented.
In three weeks, concerts, panel discussions with artists, plays and workshops are planned, and admission to all programs will be free of charge.
The festival is organized by the Mostar Rock School in cooperation with the City Administration, and sponsored by the European Union.
Cooperation has been established with the already existing music events Mostar Summer Fest and Mostar blues and rock festival, so the entrance to the first day of Mostar Summer Fest when TBF, Grše, Helem Nejse and Josip Palameta perform (September 2) will be free of charge for all visitors.
The Mostar Blues and Rock Festival is scheduled for September 17th and 18th, and so far the performances of Larry McCray, Todd Sharpville, Malter Ego and Partibrejkers have been confirmed.
Open City Mostar will close with a Magnifico concert scheduled for September 22nd.
