SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - President Zoran Milanović should be seen as the president of a member state of the European Union and NATO. And when such people say something that doesn’t suit us, we shouldn’t immediately comment on it as a hostile act. I am convinced that my colleague Bakir Izetbegović and the Bosniak people as a whole have no greater friend than the representatives of the authorities in the Republic of Croatia. I hope that he will understand that, HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović told FENA, commenting on the negative reactions from Sarajevo to the statements made by the President of the Republic of Croatia during his three-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to Čović, the reactions of Bosniak officials are surprising, because neither President Milanović nor Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković interfere with internal, local relations in BiH.
“They are European leaders, European politicians who wish well for BiH. It is clear to them that BiH, as their first neighbor, will not function and be stable without full equality of the three constituent peoples, which will be represented by their legitimate representatives,” Čović said.
