POTOČARI, July 11 (FENA) - The burial of 19 more genocide victims has been completed at the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center today.
The funeral prayer was led by the Rais-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein effendi Kavazović.
Kavazović emphasized that Srebrenica is a place of remembrance of innocent people that were killed in BiH, before the eyes of the whole of Europe, which did not want to see them, and which does not want to see clearly even today, because it is silent and turns its head to the denial of genocide, glorification and decorations of convicted war criminals.
"May each of our visit to these graves be our vow that we will remain focused on good and peace among people, that we will not allow darkness to settle in our hearts and that we will love people as our brothers and sisters. Let us always be aware of God's promise that the last word is left with the victim," concluded in his address the Rais-l-ulama Kavazović.
The families of the survivors of the Srebrenica genocide and friends, for the last time, said farewell to their loved ones they had been searching for a very long time, as their bones had been scattered in unknown locations.
So far, 6,652 victims of the genocide committed in July 1995, have been buried in the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center, while another 237 victims of genocide have been buried in other locations, according to the wishes of the victims' families. About 1,000 people are still listed as missing.
The families of the two victims, who gave their consent this year but then withdrew it, decided to bury the remains of their loved ones next year, in 2022.
