Grubeša:BiH and Croatia ready to conclude agreement on property-legal relations

SARAJEVO, June 16 (FENA) - Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Grubeša (HDZ) stated today that at the meeting of Ministers of Justice of BiH and Croatia on June 1, 2021, the will was expressed for concluding contracts on property-legal relations, and that those parties undertook to initiate the procedure of its conclusion after Croatia responded to the initiative of the BiH Ministry of Justice.

In response to the question of SDA MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Halid Genjac at the joint session of both houses of the PABiH, Grubeša reminded that the Ministry of Justice of BiH sent the initiative on September 4, 2018 to the Croatian Ministry of Justice regarding the continuation of negotiations on concluding a contract on property-legal relations, but this initiative has not been responded to yet.

He pointed out that the negotiations between the delegations of BiH and Croatia on concluding the agreement began in 1997 and that they ended in 2005 without a signed agreement.

“From 2005 until today, there have been several initiatives from BiH to harmonize positions on the issue of the content of the contract, to which the Croatian side has not responded. Then, in March 2006, a meeting of state delegations was held in Zagreb, at which the issue of property rights agreements was discussed again, and the BiH side pointed out that the disputed occupancy right and exchange of property of refugees from Croatia in BiH,” said Grubeša.
