Osmanović: Political parties make the work of ministers more difficult

FENA Muhamed Hadžibegić

SARAJEVO, June 16 (FENA) - MP of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Adil Osmanović said today in Sarajevo that the BiH Council of Ministers is not doing enough to meet 14 priorities set by the European Commission.

He added that it is necessary to send amendments to the Law on Public Procurement, the Election Law, the Law on Prevention of Conflicts of Interest, and the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) to the Parliamentary Assembly.

“Most of the ministers in the Council of Ministers have the capacity to do their job well, but the political parties they come from do not allow them to do the work in order for BiH to move faster towards the European Union,” Osmanović believes.

He pointed out that the leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, does not convene sessions of the Presidency of BiH, and it is obvious, says Osmanović, that he gives such guidelines to his ministers in the Council of Ministers.

“The policy pursued by the leader of the SNSD and his party has already been seen in this area, and that is the policy of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) from 1998 and 1999, when they obstructed the establishment of functional institutions in BiH,” said Osmanović.

He also stated that the international community stopped that policy, but he added that it seems to him that the SNSD is going in that direction as well.
