SARAJEVO, June 9 (FENA) - Workers in the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina ended today's protest in Sarajevo, after which they expect the BiH Council of Ministers to meet their demands on Friday, which include, among other things, the abolition of visas for citizens of Saudi Arabia, Great Britain and Ireland and facilitating the entry of all other tourists into BiH.

"In the last month, we have been in big trouble due to the rejection of the decisions of the Council of Ministers on the liberalization of the entry of foreigners into BiH and the temporary abolition of visas for citizens of Saudi Arabia, Great Britain and Ireland. That is why all associations from the territory of BiH took to the streets to point out our problems in the tourism which is in a great crisis," told FENA the president of the Association of Tourism Businesses in BiH, Senad Halilović.

Also, tourism workers demand that the BiH Council of Ministers, at its next session, enable anyone who has been revaccinated to enter BiH, including everyone who has recovered from Covid in the previous six months so that they can enter BiH without any obstacles.

"If people do not meet these two requirements, then there is a PCR or antigen test," Halilović added.

The protest walk was held from Sebilj in Baščaršija to the BiH Parliament and was organized by the Association of Tourist Guides of Sarajevo "Vučko", the Association of Tourist Businesses of BiH, the Association of Employers of Trade, Catering and Tourism "Horeca RS", the tourist cluster UNA-SANA and the Tourist Cluster of Herzegovina.

Tourism workers have told all levels of government that they want to start working in Bosnia and Herzegovina and be competitive in the market and that no one should be hindering them in their work.
