At the formal meeting, conclusions were adopted confirming the Brdo - Brioni commitment to the process. The importance of the process in strengthening good neighborly relations and in promoting the European perspective of the Western Balkans was emphasized.

The EU enlargement to the countries of the region is a geopolitical necessity and the most important precondition for a stable, perspective and sustainable future of Europe, it was concluded at the meeting.

Progress has been recorded in the process of recovery from the pandemic and immunization of the population. The need to use the recovery as an opportunity for a green and digital transition, which will lead to more sustainable development, and thus better prospects for the younger generations, was also emphasized.

The leaders welcomed the adoption of the EU Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans in October 2020, which will, through development projects, provide significant funds for the region.

The common strategic vision of a free, united and peaceful Europe was reiterated, as well as the commitment to peace, stability and good neighborly relations.

The participants of the meeting have concluded that EU enlargement to the Western Balkans is a priority and that the process should be accelerated and ensure more active EU engagement with all states of the region, in order to meet the conditions for EU membership.

The intention of the Republic of Slovenia to hold the EU-Western Balkans Summit during its presidency of the Council of the European Union was welcomed, as well as the intention to include the countries of the Western Balkans in the Conference on the Future of Europe, which began on May 9, 2021.
