SARAJEVO, April 29 (FENA) - Improving policies that set the obligation to develop integrity plans in BiH is the main recommendation of today's online conference organized by the project "Institutional Support to Anti-Corruption - IPAK".
It was also pointed out that it is necessary to adjust the existing methodological approaches for development of integrity plans in BiH to the specifics of those obliged to develop them.
Among the recommendations is the establishment of a mechanism for financing anti-corruption bodies, and the introduction of a budget line for financing measures envisaged by the integrity plan at the level of the institution.
A review of APIK's methodology states that no risks, risk factors and measures to improve integrity have been defined, as well as that no comprehensive and measurable indicators have been envisaged.
Nicolas Bizel, Head of the Operational Department of the EU Delegation to BiH for Justice and Home Affairs and Public Administration Reform, said it is high time for BiH institutions to adopt an Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan that would encourage the same processes at all levels of government.
“It is for these activities that the IPAK Project provides support,” said Bizel.
The aim of the conference was to provide relevant stakeholders with the opportunity to make an additional contribution to the recommendations and to identify obstacles to their implementation, as well as ways to remove or overcome them.
The project "Institutional Support to Anti-Corruption - IPAK", worth 750,000 euros, provides support to anti-corruption bodies and institutions at all levels in BiH in order to raise the fight against corruption in the country to a higher and more engaged level.
