Qari: Muslim World League in Sarajevo a bridge between the Balkan states and KSA

SARAJEVO, April 22 (FENA) - Director of the Head Office of the Muslim World League in BiH, based in Sarajevo, Abdullah Qari, today signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with representatives of the Islamic communities of the Republic of North Macedonia and Montenegro Shaqir Fetahu and Khalil Kajoshaj.

"The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the muftis marked the beginning of good cooperation between the Rabita and the Balkan countries. The Muslim World League in Sarajevo will in the future represent a bridge between the Balkan states and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," said Qari.

He announced the implementation of numerous projects in the focus of which will be inter-religious dialogue, but also humanitarian aid to the socially endangered population.

President of the Islamic Community of North Macedonia Shaqir effendi Fetahu and Deputy Mufti of Montenegro Halil effendi Kajoshaj expressed satisfaction with the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, which will take place in the field of science, religion, but also humanity.

The Muslim World League has the project in the month of Ramadan implements the "Ramadan Gift" project, and this year it is donating 6,000 gift package vouchers for the endangered citizens of BiH, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Croatia.

"So far, the Muslim World League has secured USD 300,000 in aid to governments in the region to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic," said Qari.

Led by Secretary-General, Muhammad bin Abdulker El-Isa, the Rabita helps Muslims and governments around the world through interfaith dialogue, calls for mutual respect, and the fight against all forms of extremism and radicalism.

"Some 1,200 Islamic scholars in Mecca signed the Declaration on Interreligious Dialogue, Respect and Future Cooperation. Our faith is the faith of peace, mutual cooperation, compassion, these are our goals in the future and we want to expand them worldwide," concluded the director of the Regional Office of the Muslim World League in BiH Abdullah Qari.
