FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 21 (FENA) - Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ankica Gudeljević announced today, at an online meeting with EU member states ambassadors, the election of new state coordinators for the Horizon Europe science program, as well as for two other very important international scientific projects COST and EUREKA.

She emphasized that the guidance for the election of new state representatives will be the transparency and involvement of all universities in BiH.

Presenting her arguments, she emphasized that culture is under the jurisdiction of the entities and cantons, and pointed out the often-repeated issue of the status of the so-called "Seven cultural institutions" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which cannot be solved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, but the ministry can always support these institutions through the annual awarding of grants.

Speaking about education, she singled out the international PISA and TIMSS research programs and explained the difficulties the ministry faces, but also the positive developments in higher education.

"Yesterday, I had a meeting with the RS Minister of Education Natalija Trivić where we have expressed good will for continued participation in the PISA survey, in the way that the Ministry of Civil Affairs initiated in the past - clear and unambiguous visibility of all stakeholders," said Gudeljević.

Speaking about the procurement of vaccines, Gudeljević emphasized that BiH has so far received 60,000 doses of vaccines through donations, and more donations from Croatia, China, Serbia and Slovenia are expected in the total number of 94,800 doses of vaccines.

So far, 49,800 doses have arrived through the COVAX mechanism, and another 182,220 doses from the same mechanism are expected. From the EU4Health mechanism, and through the Government of the Republic of Austria, 99,105 doses are expected to arrive by the end of the second quarter and 114,717 by the end of the third quarter of this year, a total of 213,822 doses of vaccine. 380,000 doses of vaccine from the Republic of Poland are expected to arrive through the same mechanism.

Speaking about direct procurement, she said that the entity of RS procured 42,000 vaccines.

The meeting was organized by the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, and the Special Representative of the EU Johann Sattler, who praised the great efforts made by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in the procurement of vaccines.

He announced further support for these activities of the Ministry, stated the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.
