SARAJEVO, April 21 (FENA) - Vaccination of the residents of the Sarajevo Canton over the age 75 began today at the Zetra Olympic Hall.
This is the first day of the third mass phase of vaccination, a member of the cantonal crisis staff, Arman Šarkić, told reporters, announcing the entry into the third phase, despite the small number of available doses.
Further activities on the ground, he added, will depend on the arrival of vaccines in the Federation of BiH, i.e. the Sarajevo Canton.
“We have taken all tactical operational steps. Today is our first day, it is very important for us to make sure that the information system is in synergy with the operational steps even though we had tried it the day before. However, since it is the first day, we must be very careful not to make any mistakes. For that reason, we have created controls at the entrance to the Zetra hall, and we previously announced that an electronic referral from a family doctor would be needed,” Šarkić said.
Since the first day for vaccination is for persons older than 75 with health insurance, who are marked as very high risky group, Šarkić conveys the appeal of the authorities that they continue to apply for vaccination.
Šarkić especially points out that they have also organized teams for immobile or house-related patients from this age group. It is estimated that there are 2,000 to 3,000 of them.
Vaccination at home is possible for them with Sinovac vaccines, since they are much easier to distribute and store.
He reminded that the arrival of additional doses of vaccines was announced, so further procedures in the field will depend on that.
