Turkey donates vaccines for immunization of police officers at the state level

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 18 (FENA) - A shipment of 10,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines donated by the Republic of Turkey arrived at the Sarajevo International Airport yesterday morning.

The donation is the result of a meeting between Bosnia and Herzegovina's Security Minister Selmo Cikotić and Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu in Ankara earlier this month, the BiH Ministry of Security said.

On that occasion, Minister Cikotić asked his Turkish colleague to donate vaccines for immunization of all police officers and employees in police agencies from the state level, who are exposed to numerous contacts in their daily work, and also play an important role in implementing epidemiological measures through the control of movement and activities at border crossings for the aim of preventing the spread of coronavirus.

Minister Cikotić and Turkish Ambassador to BiH Sadik Babur Girgin attended the handover of vaccines at the Sarajevo International Airport.
