SARAJEVO, April 5 (FENA) - The Government of the Sarajevo Canton held an emergency session today on the occasion of the latest events at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, i.e. the media writings about the functionality of the ventilators for Covid patients at KCUS.
The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, addressed the media after the emergency session of the SC Government, which followed afte the meeting with the director of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, Sebija Izetbegović, and her associates.
On that occasion, Forto presented to the public the conclusions adopted by the SC Government.
"We ask the FBiH Administration for Inspection Affairs to go to the KCUS and establish the real situation, having in mind all media and other statements and claims. We ask the FBiH Ministry of Health, more precisely Minister Mandić, to form an ad hoc commission in which all co-founders of the Clinical Center will appoint one member, who will be an expert and who will be provided with insight to objectively determine that all claims that came from KCUS are true. We ask the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office to investigate all allegations about the case, especially those where it is said that people's lives have been endangered," said Forto.
He stressed that the SC Government is also requesting a report from KCUS on all issues.
He pointed out that the SC Government has again insisted that the management of KCUS be appointed in accordance with the law, that is, for the canton as one of the co-founders, and by far the largest financier of that institution, to get legitimately elected representatives on the Board of KCUS.
Forto stressed that the use of controversial ventilators should be banned.
"They need to be removed. If there is a way for the Government or the Health Insurance Institute and the institution itself to procure ventilators of verified quality, we ask them to do so as soon as possible," said Forto.
