SARAJEVO, March 30 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, said today at the emergency session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly that the SC Government has done everything to procure the COVID vaccine for the immunization of citizens.
In response to the deputies, he said that financial resources for the purchase of vaccines were also provided. Pharmaceutical companies interested in procuring vaccines have been given consent to negotiate with vaccine manufacturers and distributors.
“Seven companies requested authorization for negotiations, and they were approved. We spoke directly with three major manufacturers. We hope that together we will succeed in providing vaccines for mass immunization,” said Forto.
He emphasized that the Council of Ministers of BiH, i.e. the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, has the supervision over that.
In response to MPs, Forto said there is also compensation to stimulate the employment of health workers, and the SC Government has provided funding. Special decisions are being prepared to stimulate the employment of health workers.
SBB representative Bilsena Šahman warned that citizens who were vaccinated in Belgrade have a vaccination certificate, but that the Health Insurance Institute must register those citizens.
