ŠIROKI BRIJEG, March 11 (FENA) - The European project MAPPAE (Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Pathways Across Europe), which aims to create a multi-sensory, tourist and cultural thematic route, linking European destinations united by a common tradition in the field of MAPs (Medicinal and Aromatic Plants), was presented in Široki Brijeg.
“I believe that this project is of exceptional importance not only for BiH but for the entire region. The project addresses the part of the tourist offer that has been neglected so far. This is something new and something we have started with Mediterranean countries that have a similar offer. I think that these tours, when the epidemiological situation is better, will be interesting for tourists from all over the world,” said the project coordinator Marija Živković.
The MAPPAE project connects European destinations united by a common tradition in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants in six European countries - Italy, France, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Malta and Cyprus.
There are 12 planned itineraries designed to enjoy the universe of aromatic herbs and fragrances.
The tourist activities will be accessible through this Web portal, videos and multimedia content and a specific App that uses innovative mobile technologies.
The Partners of the project are: Associazione Le Terre dei Savoia (Italy), Heritage Srl (Italy), WAWU – Wonderful Activities With Us (France), Troodos Network (Cyprus), Deputy Ministry of Cyprus (Cyprus), Miomirisni Otočki Vrt (Croatia), Gharb City Council (Malta) and Kadar Film and Video Production (Bosnia-Herzegovina). The project is co-funded by the COSME Program of the European Union.
