PRONI Center opens five new youth clubs in BiH

SARAJEVO, March 7 (FENA) - PRONI Center for Youth Development has opened five new youth clubs in the last ten days. They opened their centers in Trebinje, Bihać, Cazin, Bosanski Petrovac and Prijedor.

According to the General Manager of the PRONI Center, Jasmin Jašarević, these cities and municipalities have joined the network of youth clubs in BiH run by PRONI, so that there are now a total of 15 locations in BiH where these clubs operate. These are places intended for young people who work together on their personal and professional development through activism, educational and sports-recreational activities.

“One of the most important activities that we are implementing through the Youvolution 2.0 project, which is a continuation of the project from last year when we announced the opening of these youth clubs, is the PRONI Academy of Youth Work B and B + level. At that academy, young people acquire knowledge in the field of training for coaches of young people, as well as in the field of youth work management in those clubs,” Jašarević told FENA.

Young people thus acquire knowledge and skills in order to share ideas and values of youth work in their communities and to manage youth organizations in a quality way in order to strengthen the youth sector and its impact on the communities in which they operate. There are currently 20 participants for trainers in youth work (B level), 69 participants in the training for youth work managers (B + level), and 70 participants in the Volunteer Program.

Jašarević added that the Youvolution 2.0 project was supported through the BHRI initiative implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in BiH, and American people through USAID donated the funds. Without their support and help, as he added, it would not be possible for the clubs to continue working and open new clubs. Otherwise, the very name YouVolution could be translated as the evolution of youth in local communities.

The coronavirus pandemic, he added, has slowed down the work of the PRONI Center for Youth Development, especially since its essence is that young people physically come to youth clubs, centers, workshops, to meet, socialize and travel.

As part of the Youvolution 2.0 project, they plan to organize three regional conferences on activism and the role of young people in the work of local communities, primarily local communities, in the coming months.

“We will use some good experiences we have from BiH and try to pass them on to young people in three regions, Krajina, Herzegovina and central Bosnia. Also, we plan and aim to localize and register all youth clubs in a certain way as local youth organizations that will be partners with local authorities regarding youth issues,” said Jašarević.

PRONI Center for Youth Development is dedicated to the needs of young people because, as he added, not everything ends in schools and colleges. That is why it is important to create adequate youth policies, strategies and action plans for young people so that they can realize their full potential.
