LJUBUŠKI, March 7 (FENA) - 'Paragliding Ljubuški' became famous all over the world and 'Ljubuški Fortress' entered the top four paragliding destinations in the Balkans.
Flying in Ljubuški provides top flying pleasure for both XC pilots and recreational pilots who want to enjoy the evening thermals and laminar wind on the slope. Ljubuški Fortress airfield is located on the south side of the slope, at 340 m above sea level.
“Pilots come from all over Europe to Ljubuški, but also from other continents, although not in such a large number so far. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, our club holds the first place in the total sum of kilometers flown and hours spent in the air,” said President of the club "Paragliding Ljubuški" David Šiljeg in an interview with FENA and added that the Ljubuški Fortress airfield has over 1,000 takeoffs a year, which ranks them alongside the top three Slovenian terrains, while leaving behind all the most frequent airfields in Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania.
According to him, this adrenaline sport is not harmless, but with the observance of regulations, the dangers can be reduced to the lowest level.
