BiH Independence Day marked in Oslo

OSLO, March 1 (FENA) - As part of the celebration of the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Oslo, just like every year, the Association of Citizens of BiH in Norway, organized a festive program. However, this time, due to the pandemic conditions, without the physical presence of the exhibitors or the audience via the web.

After the anthem was sung, a welcome speech by the President of the Association of Citizens of BiH in Norway, Inan Begić, in Norwegian.

BiH Ambassador to Norway Nedim Makarević pointed out that in the thousand-year history of the struggle for the continuity of Bosnia and Herzegovina's statehood, its peoples and citizens have gone through various historical phases, great challenges, but always insisted on the challenges that were set before them.

He referred to ZAVNOBiH, as well as to the current certain efforts to marginalize the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a constitutional creation and to, at the request of some groups, eventually disintegrate and disappear.

Therefore, he emphasized the enormous importance of the diaspora, which can and should constructively help in all possible ways to strengthen our only BiH, the Embassy of BiH in Norway said.
