SARAJEVO, February 25 (FENA) - Efficient, transparent and depoliticized public administration in the service of citizens is a key precondition in the ongoing process of stabilization and accession of our country to the European Union, it was concluded today at the 5th meeting of the Public Administration Reform Special Group between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Commission, which, due to epidemiological circumstances, was held online.
The delegation of the FBiH Government at this meeting was led by FBIH Minister of Justice Mato Jozić, who said that the Government of FBiH adopted the Action Plan for Public Administration Reform, within which he emphasized the work on amendments to the Law on Civil Service in FBiH which are currently in the phase of harmonization with cantonal governments.
The Minister assessed that this will create preconditions for a depoliticized and professional civil service based on competencies and oriented towards citizens, and that the amendments to the Law will contribute to more efficient and quality management of human resources in the civil service.
The political part of today's meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija and BiH Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša, while the European Commission delegation was represented by Director for the Western Balkans at the Directorate-General for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, Genoveva Ruiz Calavera. In the context of public administration reform in our country, she emphasized, among other things, the need for better coordination between all levels of government, as well as the need to allocate more financial resources for these purposes.
The technical part of the meeting was also held today where they discussed topics in the field of public administration, related to the adoption of laws, strategies and action plans and other regulations in the direction of building a professional and responsible public administration, said the Press Service of the Government of FBiH.
