She referred to the last local elections in BiH, saying that women did not have good results, and that it can be said that women's participation in the political context is far below the legal minimum.

She also reminded of the recent initiative 'Nisam tražila' ('I did not ask for it') emphasizing that all forms of violence against women and girls must be eliminated.

Chairman of the Committee on Gender Equality of the House of Representatives of the House of Representatives Adil Osmanović said that the goal of today's conference was to make an analysis of the situation after the adoption of the Law on Gender Equality, how much it had positive effects, primarily on the realization of greater rights of women, both in the family and those employed in the public and private sectors.

Chairman of the Joint Committee for Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lazar Prodanović, assessed that this is an important topic, protection of human rights and affirmation of the role of women in society.

“Together with the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, the Agency for Gender Equality, Entity Gender Centers, we organized this conference to draw public attention in BiH to the position of women, their important role, to discuss the elimination of violence against women and all problems they face, the affirmation of women in the workplace, in society, in public life,” said Prodanović.

President of the Association of Roma Women in Bijeljina, Sabira Hašimović, said that the biggest problem of Roma women is that they are not accepted like other women, emphasizing that Roma women can do the same as all other women.
