STOLAC, 11 February (FENA) - The Bosniak caucus in the Stolac Municipal Council has asked the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and foreign embassies to "engage more concretely in eliminating systemic discrimination and establishing democratic relations and the rule of law in the municipality of Stolac".
"On behalf of the Bosniak caucus, today we addressed the OHR, the OSCE and the embassies of the member states of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) in BiH, hoping that the international community would get actively involved in resolving the issue of electing the Municipal Council President, the accumulated problems the Bosniaks of Stolac face day to day due to systemic discrimination", said the Bosniak caucus.
The Bosniak caucus in the Stolac Municipal Council added that "disproportionate representation of Bosniaks in municipal administration and other public enterprises, indifferent attitude towards projects in the field of communal infrastructure, health, education, culture, sports and other issues that are in the interest of Bosniaks, but not against the interests of any other peoples, are just some of the examples of consistency of such a discriminatory approach."
