Trade unionists and activists on protecting journalists' human and labor rights

SARAJEVO, February 11 (FENA) - Representatives of non-governmental organizations, trade unions, journalists and activists held a discussion today in Sarajevo on respecting the human and labor rights of journalists and activists.

Samir Kurtović, President of the Independent Trade Union of Civil Servants and State Employees in Civil Service, Judiciary and Public Institutions in FBiH, pointed out that the trade union, the non-governmental sector and the Association of Journalists should work together to protect human and labor rights.

Ana Dominik Rodić, a member of the founding body of the Association of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Region (ANOR) and a member of the Association of Journalists of BiH, said that they opened a public debate for trade unions and non-governmental organizations on the rights of journalists and activists.

Long-time correspondent of the Croatian national broadcaster HRT from BiH, Špela Cvitković-Iličić, emphasized that she was pleased to participate in the discussion at the level of regional cooperation.

"I shared my experiences from working in BiH, and how the Croatian Journalists 'Association and the Croatian Journalists' Union have tried to overcome all the problems and find the best way to prevent human rights violations," said Cvitković-Iličić.
