Tegeltija - Ali Sorour: BiH and Egypt should sign a readmission agreement

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 29 (FENA) - The BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija received today in an inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to BiH, Yasser Abdelrahman Ali Sorour, where he pointed out that relations between the two friendly countries are good and without any outstanding issues.

The two officials exchanged experiences in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and the processes that are being conducted with the aim of procuring vaccines.

The problem of illegal migration and security was also discussed at the meeting.

In that context, Chairman Tegeltija said that a positive step for the continuation of cooperation in all areas would be the signing of a readmission agreement as soon as possible.

He added that BiH is one of the countries particularly affected by the migrant crisis since the end of 2017 and that it unjustifiably bears too much of the burden of the global migrant crisis, said the Council of Ministers.

Chairman Tegeltija expressed the interest of BiH in continuing cooperation in the field of tourism, as a significant branch of the economy for both countries, which is currently in a phase of stagnation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
