Vidović: This is far from 'Sanader case'

FENA Muamer Selimbegovic

SARAJEVO, January 29 (FENA) - Fadil Novalić's defense attorney Vasvija Vidović said today, after a plea hearing in the ventilators case, that the case is the result of a "media plan" and that the Prosecution knew exactly what was going on behind the scenes, but it probably was in someone's interest to make a 'Sanader case' in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“By violating the presumption of innocence, the prosecution created a preconceived notion of guilt,” stated Vidović, explaining that the phrase "media plan" means that "either the prosecution or the defense, and in this case the prosecution, prepare a plan in which it criminalizes someone without trial, i.e. proves the accusations through the media, instead of investigating".

She added that she is deeply convinced that the evidence in this case do not follow the factual description of the indictment, and that there was a lot of illegally obtained evidence, claiming that the whole case has a political background.

Responding to press inquiries, she said that the main trial in this case must begin within 30 days at the latest, and announced that in this particular case she would make an exception and give an introductory speech to respond to the situation created in public.

When asked who is responsible for making the "Sanader case" in BiH, Vidović said that different interests are at stake.

“First of all, you have interests of BiH's entry into the EU and they need one such case, however, this is far from what is the case with Prime Minister Sanader. And of course you have internal political conflicts. Political background is behind this, without a doubt, and we will prove that,” said lawyer Vidović.
